Woman of the Year

An award is presented at the Annual Meeting to the woman awarded whose conduct exemplifies the highest standards, personally and professionally, while active in a full-time career. is woman is not complacent with her growth, but continues her education and development in all facets of her life. She is recognized by her professional peers as having achieved success in her field through her efforts and perseverance. She is also recognized as a woman whose quest, personally and professionally, serves as an inspiration to others. She also continually goes out of her way to help and mentor other women. She demonstrates selfless contributions of kindness, time and energy so that others may succeed; sharing information and ideas as well as networking on behalf of women.

July Showcase Your Business Spotlight

Vickie Messinger, Business Manager - Stevens Architects

Our July “Showcase Your Business” presentation is by Vickie Messinger, the Business Manager at Stevens Architects in downtown Port Huron. Her background includes business owner, community banking, military base audit clerk and a cook at a yacht club in St. Clair Shores where she grew up. Vickie has volunteered many hours with the March of Dimes and her church, St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lexington.

    Vickie has an Associates of Applied Arts and Sciences in Business from St. Clair County Community College.  She was recognized by NACW Port Huron Chapter as Career Woman of the Year in 2011.  She was also recognized by March of Dimes – Port Huron Chapter with the Division Directors Award in 2005 and the Volunteer of the Year in 2009.

    Vickie has been married to her husband Clyde for 21 years and together they have a blended family of 5 – 4 daughters, 1 son and 13 grandchildren.

    Her hobbies include quilting, knitting, crocheting and little travels to refresh. She has won two best of show ribbons for knitted entries in the Sanilac County Fair. Her thought to share is “don’t allow little flaws to overwhelm your satisfaction in what you can do; no one will see the flaws, just the beauty.”
