What are the tangible projects we can point to that equate to a thriving ecosystem that is coveted for its environmental, social, recreational, and economic values? Sheri Faust, Executive Director for Friends of the St. Clair River will discuss past environmental problems and explore current challenges. Water and wildlife know no political boundaries, so Friends work is coordinated with many partners to achieve restoration goals.
 
Speaker Bio: Sheri Faust joins us today as the newly appointed Executive Director of Friends of the St. Clair River. She is the Founder of the organization which is the region’s largest environmental organization. Prior to her role at Friends, Sheri worked in Environmental Health at the St. Clair County Health Department for 20 years. Other positions she's held are Education Director at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit, and as Fundraising Director at the Girl Scouts Council in Port Huron. Sheri holds a degree in Natural Resource Management from Michigan State University. She chairs the Regional Trails Board working to complete the Bridge to Bay Trail and is a Planning Commissioner for Port Huron Township. Her service to the community was recognized with a Blue Water Woman Government Professional of the Year award. Sheri lives in Port Huron Township with her husband and daughters.
