Title: Women Driven Charity
Speaker: Lysne Tait, Executive Director, Helping Women Period
For more than five years, Lysne has been a nationally-recognized leader in the period poverty space. In early 2015, she co-founded Helping Women Period, a nonprofit organization that provides no-cost menstrual products to those experiencing homelessness and low income. Lysne believes strongly that filling the basic need of menstrual hygiene products for homeless and low income people is one key step in helping them become more self-sufficient.
Passionate about creating connections, Lysne also founded and runs the Not Your Mother's Networking Group - a local women only Facebook group. She has appeared in Teen Vogue and countless podcasts talking about period poverty in the United States. Lysne has a bachelor's degree in education and communication from Eastern Michigan University and resides in DeWitt with her family.
Helping Women Period is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, committed to supplying menstrual health products to people that menstruate who are either homeless or low-income. With your donation, we can buy in bulk quantities. Any donation amount is appreciated and a little goes a long way to purchasing products.
